BenevolentAI is HQ’d in London with a research facility in Cambridge (UK) and further offices in New York and Antwerp. BenevolentAI has active R&D drug programmes from discovery to PhaseIIb in disease areas such as ALS, Parkinson’s, Ulcerative Colitis and Sarcopenia.
Benevolent AI is an industry leader in the structuring and analysis of scientific data to enhance drug discovery through our Benevolent Platform. A critical component of our approach is the acquisition and management of complex biomedical data sources. We’re looking for an experienced senior leader to create and execute our data strategy, manage our data portfolio and drive the process of valuing and acquiring new data.
Structure the BAI data portfolio through the creation of a catalogue that includes information such as impact assessments, acquisition and renewal costs, licensing restrictions, breadth of use, uniqueness, exclusivity, essentiality, and alternative sources.
Ensure the quality of the raw data in our portfolio meets acceptable standards.
Work with relevant parties across the business to ensure the right skills are brought to bear to meet our data objectives.
Identify BenevolentAI’s near, medium and long term data challenges and risks.
Develop a strategic roadmap to mitigate against such challenges and risks, which will protect the BenevolentAI data portfolio and our business, as well as supporting company objectives.
Create the company Data Handling Policy, which provides the necessary guidance for data licensing, security, compliance, and governance to ensure we have the right processes in place to handle incoming data assets.
Review existing data license terms and conditions and where appropriate plan for risk mitigation and strategic opportunity activities such as license renegotiation.
Identify and prioritise new data acquisition opportunities with a holistic approach across all product areas.
Identify, select, and implement procurement strategies for specific acquisition targets, including data licensing/acquisition, bartering, and corporate M&A, and considering additional acquisition targets and other areas for negotiation leverage.

At least 5-10 years experience in the biomedical industry
Experience managing a team
Experience with handling and processing biomedical data
Experienced negotiator with a proven track record of success
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
