BenevolentAI, founded in 2013, creates and applies AI technologies to transform the way medicines are discovered and developed. BenevolentAI seeks to improve patient’s lives by applying technology designed to generate better data decision making and in doing so lower drug development costs, decrease failure rates and increase the speed at which medicines are generated. The company has developed the Benevolent Platform™ - a discovery platform used by BenevolentAI scientists to find new ways to treat disease and personalise drugs to patients.
BenevolentAI is HQ’d in London with a research facility in Cambridge (UK) and further offices in New York and Antwerp. BenevolentAI has active R&D drug programmes from discovery to PhaseIIb in disease areas such as ALS, Parkinson’s, Ulcerative Colitis and Sarcopenia.
We’re now building a product team that will take our platform to the next level. As a User Researcher, you will work closely with drug discoverers (our internal users) and other members of cross-functional teams who will rely on your insight and support to develop a product for the identification of new drug targets. You will uncover and help us understand non-trivial user needs focussing around exploring and understanding vast quantities of mined and inferred biomedical data and using it to make scientific and business decisions. In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of product development, from early-stage concept generation to usability testing, to informing the strategy of product in general.
This User Research role is the first of its kind at BenevolentAI. Hence, it’s an opportunity to shape the way dynamic AI-driven biotech like ours uses research for product design and development.
Develop research methodologies that generate strategic and tactical insights, align with the product roadmap, and integrate well into product development practices
Propose, plan, and carry out user research activities by combining relevant methods and approaches (e.g. semi-structured interviews, usability analysis, contextual research, and more)
Document research activities and outcomes, generate insights, disseminate research findings across teams, and partner with product, design, and engineering to leverage learnings
Champion a user-centred research-driven culture across the company, promoting best practices and supporting colleagues in their own research activities
Contribute to the evolution of user research theory and practice across the organisation.
