Strategy Associate

BenevolentAI, founded in 2013, creates and applies AI technologies to transform the way medicines are discovered and developed. BenevolentAI seeks to improve patient’s lives by applying technology designed to generate better data decision making and in doing so lower drug development costs, decrease failure rates and increase the speed at which medicines are generated. The company has developed the Benevolent Platform™ - a discovery platform used by BenevolentAI scientists to find new ways to treat disease and personalise drugs to patients.

BenevolentAI is HQ’d in London with a research facility in Cambridge (UK) and further offices in New York and Antwerp. BenevolentAI has active R&D drug programmes from discovery to PhaseIIb in disease areas such as ALS, Parkinson’s, Ulcerative Colitis and Sarcopenia.

The role

Our Strategy team is responsible for evaluating and supporting the execution of growth opportunities, leadership around fundraising, investor relations, evaluation of partnership opportunities, and supporting business initiatives throughout BenevolentAI.

As a Strategy Associate, you will be the newest member of a small team reporting to VP Strategy and working closely with the CEO. You will contribute to the identification, development, and execution of strategic and business development initiatives. The role requires managing various internal stakeholders, working closely with the Executive Team and collaborating across teams. It also involves communicating and presenting the business direction to external partners and investors. This is an incredibly important role that offers the opportunity to shape the company’s growth trajectory and business model, and make a transformative impact in the drug discovery industry.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducting robust analyses on the market, commercial and operational opportunities to ensure data-led decision making and informed decisions

  • Identifying business problems and key hypotheses that need to be tested

  • Engaging the senior management team in the validation of recommendations and the development and execution of business initiatives

  • Scoping projects, defining workstreams and assembling project teams

  • Driving programmes to delivery, working across teams and ensuring coordination, identifying and solving for challenges and managing stakeholders

  • Assisting in preparation for Board meetings and company-wide events

We’re looking for someone with...

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

  • 2+ years of healthcare industry experience; consulting or corporate strategy/development experience highly preferred

  • Strong analytical background required, with business development and partnership experience preferred

  • Proven business development and partnership cultivation experience

  • A driven and flexible self-starter who can prioritise a challenging workload

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage senior-level stakeholders across multiple teams
