As a Senior Product Manager for squads comprising of collaborations between BenevolentAI and Charity and Corporate Partner team members, you’ll become a champion of projects that will significantly impact patients’ lives. Bringing BenevolentAI, industry and community all together is pivotal to what we do and sets the stage for the wider business strategy. With your deep understanding of the sector, you’ve dealt with both big corporations and charities alike and can appreciate the mission of breaking down boundaries between AI and Drug Discovery to ultimately deliver better solutions for hard to treat diseases. Our Product Managers are a driving force behind agile design, planning, management and delivery of Drug Discovery and Development objectives, as well as coaching for optimal team performance. Simply put - they make things happen, working together for a brighter future.

What will you be accountable for?

As the Product Manager you will be expected to:

  • Work closely with BAI and Partner stakeholders to understand organisational context and user needs, and translate these into product requirements and roadmaps

  • Devise the practices and processes required to ensure Chemists, Biologists, Data Scientists, ML Researchers and Engineers are able to do their best work and are adding maximum value towards the objectives for the duration of the partnership

  • Support the Partnership Leaders in ensuring working practices, processes, requirements and objectives are understood and championed by all stakeholders

  • Provide day-to-day support for squads, keeping communication flowing, coaching teams and individuals, facilitating planning sessions, retros and other workshops as required

  • Report on progress and proactively plan for successful outcomes, flagging major blockers, performance issues, ‘culture clashes’ or unanticipated scientific outcomes early with BAI’s Director of Partnerships

  • Develop work to the highest possible standards of delivery, using skills including:

  • BAI, partner and competitor analysis to influence strategic direction

  • Business and user research and requirements, to create product roadmaps and prioritise sprint plans

  • Agile product management and effective communications and working practices, shaped to the specific challenges of diverse, collaborating squads in multiple sites globally

  • Team coaching and facilitation

  • Tracking and reporting

What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

  • Significant experience in agile Product Management, with experience in biotech or pharma and a strong track record of delivery and impact

  • Post graduate level life sciences and experience working with advanced technologies and AI

  • Experience in the delivery of professional services, including senior stakeholder management, is highly desirable

  • Passionate about working at the cutting edge of drug discovery

  • Experience in managing and delivering complex engineering and data science products, ideally in biotech or pharma

  • Attention to detail in scoping complex collaborations, combining multiple teams and mitigating risk for unknown outcomes

  • Insight and creativity to develop innovative practices and processes which may not have been seen before, and the ability influence and drive the mindset and culture change required within BAI and our partner organisations to ensure their successful execution

  • Exceptional leadership qualities, creating an optimal environment for squads based on mutual respect and trust, and with the ability to become an indispensable advisor to senior leadership within BAI and our partner organisations
